Fighting for Responsible Development in the Beaches
We are dedicated to preserving the unique character and livability of the Toronto Beaches. We believe that development should enhance, not detract, from the community's natural beauty and vibrancy. We're not against development; we're advocating for responsible development.
Currently, we're concerned about the 419-425 Woodbine Development as Artlife doesn't appear to be committed to responsible and sustainable development.

Too tall. Too deep
The new 10-storey plus/two-level underground parking proposal will dig 4-7 meters into the ground, which could pose significant environmental and health risks. We're strongly against digging two levels underground.

Disturbed Contaminated Soil
This developer recently disturbed toxic soil to expand their parking lot. This action is against their Certificate of Property Use (CPU) that stipulates that “the owner must maintain a barrier to the site soils across the entirety of the property indefinitely.” Excavating the soil and placing black plastic to contain the toxins are violations of the CPU. This is concerning as it speaks to Artlife's lack of commitment to responsible development and the Beach community.
